Today at Sana’a University, Sheikh Shamsan Abu Nashtan, the President of the General Authority of Zakat, launched the written acceptance and differentiation exams for candidates from diverse fields. This initiative aims to select individuals for a project management competency development training program, which is conducted and financed by the Zakat Authority.

During the inauguration, the Chairman of the Authority was briefed on the progress of the admission tests, and listened to the Undersecretary of the Authority for the Information Sector, Eng. Mujahid Al-Nusra, and the Director General of Planning at the Authority, Ali Al-Hamli, to explain the examination procedures and stages in the selection of cadres and competencies.

Abu Nashtan stressed the Authority’s keenness to select the best human elements that will be invested in its development through the project management competency development program. He pointed out that after the differentiation tests, about 100 applicants who passed the test will be
selected and subjected to a specialized theoretical and practical training program for a period ranging from eight months to a full year.

He explained that the Zakat Authority has dozens of projects throughout the year in all governorates of the Republic and is keen to implement the practical application of those enrolled in the program in actual and realistic projects. He pointed out that the training program represents an opportunity for all young people from all disciplines away from mediation and favoritism, to be a role model and a translation of the direction of the revolutionary and political leadership and the government of change and construction.

Abu Nashtan stated that the priority in the recruitment process in the authority in the field of project management will be for those who excel and prove their worth and efficiency in this program. He stressed that those who excel in the program will open up other broad horizons for them, whether in the government or private sector.
