The grooms of the General Zakat Authority, from the capital Sana’a and Sana’a province, along with several groups benefiting from the fourth mass wedding project, celebrated their weddings in al-Sabeen Square. They were joined by the people of Yemen under the theme “With Gaza… Support fronts: steadfastness and jihad,” continuing their support for the Palestinian people in Gaza.

The grooms, who opted against holding elaborate festivities as a show of solidarity with Gaza, emphasized Yemen’s enduring support for Palestine. They stressed that true joy lies not in outward displays but in unity of hearts and minds, especially in the face of common causes and critical struggles.

Raising the Palestinian flag, the grooms chanted slogans condemning ongoing Zionist-American aggression and the atrocities and genocidal massacres against Palestinians in Gaza.

Sheikh Shamsan Abu Nashtan, Head of the General Authority for Zakat, explained that the grooms’ participation in the procession at al-Sabeen Square sends a cle
ar message of solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza and the occupied territories.

He underscored that the ultimate happiness would be the victory and well-being of Palestinian children, women, elderly, and men. Canceling the mass wedding ceremonies and the presence of grooms from Sana’a and Sana’a province, as well as beneficiaries such as the poor, people with special needs, children of martyrs, displaced persons, released prisoners, war-disabled individuals, and African communities, demonstrates solidarity with Gaza and its people.

The Zakat Authority recently launched its fourth mass wedding project, benefiting 11,000 couples across various provinces, totaling a cost of 4.4 billion Yemeni Riyals. The initiative includes disbursing marriage assistance to newlyweds through post offices in the capital and provinces, aligning with directives from the Revolution Leader and President of the Supreme Political Council in solidarity with Palestinians.

This fourth mass wedding stands as the largest in the region,
encompassing 34,268 brides and grooms from disadvantaged backgrounds. The initiative operates under the motto “Together to fortify the youth and confront the soft war.”
