Weather: Low-pressure cold front to affect the country

Palestine’s weather today is partially cloudy to cloudy with a significant drop in temperature becoming 3°C lower than its annual average. A low-pressure front is expected to affect the country later today. Scattered rain showers, along with thunderstorms and hail, are expected in several areas, especially the northern. according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Winds are southwesterly to westerly, moderate to active, with strong gusts that are expected to reach 60km/h. Sea waves are low.

Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 11°C and a low of 3°C, while in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 10°C and a low of 2°C are expected. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 19°C and a low of 10°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 16°C and a low of 10°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

The low pressure is expected to continue to affect the country on Thursday.

Friday’s weather is expected to be partially cloudy to cloudy and very cold to cold with a rise in temperature, which yet remains 3°C lower than its annual average. A chance of rain is expected over some areas.

Weather on Saturday is mild with another rise in temperature, which remains lower than its annual average.

The PMD warned people against low visibility and slippery roads, formation of floods in low areas, and strong winds.
