Weather forecast: Unseasonably cold to very cold conditions, sporadic rain

Weather today is partly cloudy to clear and unseasonably very cold with a rise of temperature, which approaches 5°C below the seasonal average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

The chance remains for sporadic light rain showers on some districts in the morning hours. Moderate to occasionally active northwesterly wind blows in daytime, and becomes light to moderate in the night. Sea waves are low to medium.

Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 8°C and a low of 2°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 7°C and a low of 1°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 16°C and a low of 8°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 13°C and a low of 9°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

Friday’s temperature is set to slightly rise, with clear to partly cloudy and unseasonably very cold conditions, particularly in the mountains.

A further slight rise of temperature is expected on Saturday, with clear to partly cloudy and unseasonably cold to very cold conditions, particularly in the mountains.

Sunday’s temperature is set to remain steady with clear to partly cloudy and unseasonably cold to very cold conditions, particularly in the mountains. Starting from midday, wind will pick up and occasional rain showers along with thunderstorms are expected in the north, gradually intensifying and extending to the center.

PMD warns people against low horizontal visibility and frost formation in frost-prone areas on the mornings of Thursday and Friday.
