Amman: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, said on Saturday, “We in Jordan have emphasized, more than once, that we will not be a battleground in clashes that are basically an action and reaction between Israel and Iran.”

“Let’s be frank, this war or clashes will not end the occupation, will not liberate Palestine, will not end the conflict and all it will do is increase tension, escalation and destruction in the region, and based on that we do our first duty, which is our responsibility towards our citizens, our security and our stability, and we said that we will not be an arena in these clashes for Iran or Israel, and we have clearly and explicitly informed the Iranians and Israelis that we will not allow anyone to violate our airspace and thus jeopardize the lives of our citizens, and to the extent of our abilities and according to our capabilities, we will confront anything that passes over our airspace that we believe poses a threat to us and our citizen
s,” Safadi told Al Arabiya channel in an interview on Saturday evening.

Safadi said, “We condemned the Al-Tabaeen school massacre as a new war crime, added to the hundreds of war crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip against the Palestinian people, and we stand today where we have stood since the beginning of the war, seeking and working to stop this aggression, during which Israel committed the worst war crimes known in modern history, including killing children, destroying schools and mosques, using starvation as a weapon and other crimes committed, and telling the whole world that this aggression must stop and stop immediately, and we say that escalation is mainly caused by the continuous Israeli aggression on Gaza, without any deterrent international action, in accordance with international laws that impose real action to stop this aggression.”

“The situations are difficult for everyone, not just Jordan, and the main difficult situation is in Palestine, where the aggression
continues,” Safadi added.
