UNRWA announces vaccination of 93,000 children against polio in Gaza

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) announced on Tuesday that in cooperation with its partners, it was able to vaccinate about 93,000 children under the age of 10 in the central areas of the Gaza Strip as part of the second round of the polio immunization campaign, which aims to vaccinate 591,700 children.

In a statement on X, UNRWA explained that despite the escalation of the war and the ongoing challenges, the second round of the polio immunization campaign was launched on Monday in the central areas of Gaza, stressing that the best vaccine for children is a ceasefire and peace.
