UN Security Council holds closed meeting on Lebanon

The UN Security Council will hold closed consultations on the situation in the Middle East late tonight to discuss the situation in Lebanon.

Council members will be briefed by the Head of the Peacekeeping Department, Jean-Pierre Lacroix, on the risks facing the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has emphasized that attacks on UNIFIL constitute a war crime.
