Baghdad: The Ministry of Interior announced that the Federal Police detachments arrested, in record time, “two suspects in an attempt to kill a person in Sadr City, east of the capital, Baghdad.
The Ministry of Interior said in a statement: After receiving information about the presence of an injured person in Sadr City, a force from the Eighteenth Brigade, Fifth Division, immediately moved to the scene of the incident and it was found that there was an attempted murder by two people riding two motorcycles due to family disputes, after investigation and gathering information and with the indication of the injured person who confirmed the existence of a kinship between him and the two accused who live in the Zaafaraniya area.”
He pointed out “coordination with the holding force and Al-Zaafaraniya Police Station and the cordoning off of their location within the same area and arresting them and seizing a (Glock) pistol (the murder weapon) in their possession and a rifle ammunition store with two motorcycles u
sed in carrying out the operation.”
The statement indicated that the accused were referred with the seized materials to the competent authorities to complete the legal procedures against them.
