The General Assembly of the West Asian Table Tennis Federation (WATTF) has renewed its trust in Thani Al Zaraa, a member of the Qatari Table Tennis Federation Board, as a member of the new board of the WATTF for the 2024-2028 term. Additionally, Ahmed Khalil Al Mohannadi has been appointed as the Secretary-General of the Federation for the same term.

This decision was made during the WATTF’s General Assembly held in Amman, on the sidelines of the West Asian Table Tennis Championship.

This confirms the trust in Qatari personnel and enhances the significant presence of Qatari table tennis at the administrative level in international, Asian, Arab, and West Asian table tennis federations.

Al Zaraa, said that the trust of the General Assembly members of WATTF reflects their confidence in Qatar’s administrative staff, hoping that the coming phase will mark a qualitative leap in the region, both in hosting major tournaments and organizing training sessions to keep up with the advancements made by the Asian Table
Tennis Federation under the leadership of Khalil Al Mohannadi.

Ahmed Khalil Al Mohannadi expressed his pride in the confidence placed in him by the General Assembly members through his appointment.

He noted that the presence of Qatari personnel in this regional table tennis body reinforces the prominent position of Qatari table tennis in various structures of the sport both continentally and internationally.

Al Mohannadi said that he would continue to develop table tennis across the countries of the WATTF, while wishing success to all board members in the upcoming term to outline strategic plans that will achieve aspirations and enhance the successes of the sport at the regional level.

He also highlighted the excellent results achieved by the Qatari table tennis team at the conclusion of their participation in the West Asian Championship, noting that these accomplishments will serve as motivation for more titles in future international competitions.
