RAFAH: At least two Palestinians were killed this morning in an Israeli shelling in the vicinity of the Rafah border crossing, on the Palestine-Egypt border in the southern Gaza Strip.

Local sources reported that Israeli forces targeted the vicinity of the Rafah border crossing, leading to the killing of two individuals.

The Palestinian side of the crossing has been under direct Israeli military occupation since May 7th, severely hindering the entry of food aid into the region.

The Rafah border crossing serves as the primary and sole gateway between Egypt and Gaza, and is the main crossing for passage of aid and individuals.

The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in 38,443 documented Palestinian fatalities, predominantly women and children, and 88,481 injuries, with thousands still trapped under rubble.
