Detachments of the intelligence agency responsible for combating organized crime thwarted two human trafficking operations in Babylon and Nineveh governorates.
The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement: ‘The Intelligence Agency’s detachments monitored information indicating the existence of two human trafficking gangs in the two aforementioned governorates. An intelligence work team was immediately formed, and with field follow-up and two separate operations, the sale process was thwarted and all four defendants were arrested.’ They were referred to the investigative authorities to receive their just punishment.’
