Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu said on Saturday that his country has restored access to Meta-owned social media platform, Instagram, after the company agreed to cooperate with Turkish authorities to address the government’s concerns.

Uraloglu posted on X saying that following negotiations with Instagram officials, Turkiye’s demands will be met, particularly concerning crime regulations, adding that both sides will collaborate on user moderation, as a result, the ban will be lifted.

Last week, Turkish Presidency’s Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun had harshly criticized the platform, asserting that it was preventing people from posting condolences for the assassination of Head of the Political Bureau of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) Ismail Haniyeh.
