Turkey, Iraq sign MoU on cooperation in the field of “migration and voluntary return”

The Turkish Ministry of Interior and the Iraqi Ministry of Migration and Displacement signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of “migration and voluntary return”.

The Turkish Interior Ministry stated in a statement today, Wednesday, that Turkish Minister Ali Yerlikaya and Iraqi Minister of Migration and Displacement Evan Faik Jabro signed the memorandum of understanding, which allows Iraqis in Turkey to return to their country voluntarily.

According to the memorandum of understanding, which aims to adopt a more sustainable and safe approach to migration management, the two countries will cooperate effectively in preventing irregular and illegal migration.

The Turkish Interior Minister expressed his hope in a post on the “X” platform that the memorandum of understanding will benefit the two neighboring countries and their peoples.
