The Istanbul Public Prosecutor’s Office filed a lawsuit today, Monday, against 20 people accused of spying for the Israeli Foreign Intelligence Service / Mossad /.

The indictment stated that 20 defendants, 16 of whom are in custody pending investigation, carried out “international espionage” activities for the Israeli Foreign Intelligence Service / Mossad / against foreign nationals residing in Turkey.

The office stated that the Mossad unit communicated with the defendants – who were arrested in Turkey at different times – by publishing job advertisements via social media applications in order to obtain information about the targeted persons.

The defendants obtained confidential information, including addresses and photos of Palestinian citizens and Hamas members targeted by Israeli intelligence, and then shared it with Israeli intelligence officers, he explained.

The prosecutor’s office indicated in its indictment that the defendants received money from Israeli intelligence for their work, particularly t
hrough the bank transfer system, cryptocurrency, and the Western Union money transfer system.

The prosecutor’s office demanded that the defendants be imprisoned for between 18 and 45 years on charges of “political or military espionage.” Within the scope of the indictment accepted by the Istanbul High Criminal Court earlier, the defendants will appear before a judge in November
