The Ministry of Defense announced today, Sunday, the arrest of 3 drug dealers, including a woman, in Baghdad and Babylon.

The Ministry of Defense said in a statement, “Under the direction and supervision of the Minister of Defense, Thabet Al-Abbasi, as part of the continued implementation of qualitative operations by the heroes of the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security at the Ministry of Defense, the Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate detachments were able to overthrow an accused of human trafficking by selling children and girls in Baghdad, against whom an arrest warrant was issued in accordance with the provisions of Article (5/First of the Anti-Human Trafficking Law), and legal measures were taken against her and she was handed over to the competent authorities.”

It added, “The Babylon Intelligence and Security Directorate detachments were able to arrest two drug dealers and promoters red-handed in Babylon Governorate. The arrest came based on accurate intelligence information a
nd according to two arrest warrants issued against them (28 drugs).”

It continued, “The Ministry of Defense pledges to the Iraqi people that it will be the safe wall to protect the homeland and combat organized crime gangs and the scourge of drugs.”
