The Turkish Defense Ministry announced the killing of 16 PKK militants in airstrikes carried out by Turkish warplanes in northern Iraq and Syria.
The Turkish Defense Ministry stated in a statement today, Sunday, that Turkish army units stationed in the Claw Lock Operation area in northern Iraq monitored a gathering of PKK militants in the mountainous regions of Hakurk and Metina, which required the use of warplanes. Their raids on the two regions resulted in the killing of 14 of them and the withdrawal of the others.
The statement indicated that the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) has its stronghold in the Qandil Mountains in northern Iraq, and is active in many cities, regions and valleys, launching attacks on the Turkish interior from there, and that the Turkish army is working hard to dry up the sources of terrorism / according to the statement.
On the other hand, the Turkish Defense stated in its statement that Turkish fighter jets also carried out raids on PKK sites in the Euphrates Shield operations a
rea in northern Syria, which resulted in the killing of two of the party’s militants.
