Ramallah – Ma’an – The Prisoners’ and Ex-Prisoners’ Affairs Authority and the Prisoners’ Club announced today, Monday, that they have obtained approval from the Israeli occupation authorities to visit detainees in the Gaza Strip next July, stressing that this approval remains subject to any amendments or developments that may occur, in light of the great restrictions imposed on them. The Commission and the Prisoners’ Club added, in a joint statement, that in light of the dangerous situation, and since the first day of the war of genocide and arrests, the Commission’s and the Club’s lawyers made every possible effort to reveal the fate of Gaza detainees, but their efforts collided with the refusal of the occupation authorities and the administration of its prisons and courts to deal with them, until they There have been recent amendments to the legal regulations for Gaza detainees, which allow revealing their places of d
etention and visiting them later. There are efforts, in cooperation with other institutions, to follow up on the issue of Gaza detainees, which poses the most important and greatest challenges facing the institutions, and ‘we have obtained approval to visit them next July.’ However, this approval remains subject to any amendments or developments that may occur, in light of the significant restrictions imposed by the occupation on Gaza detainees and on the work of human rights institutions.’
