Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani made a phone call today, Monday, to the new President of the Islamic Republic, Masoud Pezeshkian.
During the call, according to a statement by his media office, al-Sudani congratulated the Iranian President on the occasion of his victory in the elections, and also congratulated the Islamic Republic on its success in holding the elections in a short period, and at a critical stage experienced by Iran, government and people, after the painful plane crash that claimed the lives of the Iranian President, the Foreign Minister and their companions.
The call witnessed the discussion of bilateral relations, and the emphasis on continuing joint cooperation efforts in various sectors and economic and security files, in a way that enhances the interests of the two neighboring countries and the prosperity of their peoples.

For his part, Pezeshkian expressed his thanks to Al-Sudani, stressing his country’s keenness to expand cooperation and support bilateral understandings in many areas, in a way that enhances the efforts of the stability of the two countries and the region.
