The Presidency of the Republic rejects any infringement on the status of the supreme religious authority and calls on the international community to take action

The Presidency of the Republic announced today, Wednesday, its rejection of any attack on the position of the supreme religious authority and calls on the international community to take action.

A statement by the Presidency stated that it “condemns in the strongest terms the attack on the supreme authority in Iraq and the world through the media of the occupying entity, and while we reject such insults to the position of the authority, we stress the necessity of respecting the sanctities of all religions and sects, whether Islamic or non-Islamic, as this blatant attack will lead to expanding the circle of danger and violence and will expose the region to more fighting.”

The Presidency called on: The international community to take effective action and express urgent positions in rejecting any calls for hatred between peoples, and “we affirm Iraq’s endeavor to strengthen efforts to stop the aggression against Palestine and Lebanon, and we affirm its firm and principled position on the just cause of Palestine and the right of its people to self-determination and the establishment of their state on all their national soil.
