The Chargé d’Affaires of the Iraqi Embassy in Libya, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, announced today, Wednesday, that the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ahmed Al-Mubarqa, will visit the Libyan capital, Tripoli, tomorrow.

Al-Sahhaf said in a statement: ‘The Minister of Youth and Sports, Ahmed Al-Mubarqa, will pay an official visit tomorrow, Thursday, to the Libyan capital, Tripoli, to participate in the opening of the activities of Tripoli, the Capital of Arab Youth, in the presence of a number of ministers of youth and sports in the Arab countries.’

He added, “The minister will hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts, the Minister of Youth in the National Unity Government, Fathallah Abdul Latif Al-Zani, and the Minister of Sports in the National Unity Government, Abdul Shafi’ Al-Juwaifi, within the framework of strengthening relations between the two brotherly countries.”

He continued, “The activation of the memorandum of understanding concluded between the two countries will be discussed during the visit of the Lib
yan Minister of Youth to Baghdad at the beginning of this year.”

It is noteworthy that this visit is the first by an Iraqi minister to Libya since 1979, and comes within the framework of the keenness of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Tripoli to strengthen relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.
