The Minister of Industry and Minerals, Khaled Battal Al-Najm, accompanied by the Governor of Najaf, Majid Al-Waeli, opened the Babylon Tire Factory, located in Najaf and affiliated with the General Company for Rubber and Tire Industries, after it was rehabilitated, developed, and entered service again after a hiatus that lasted for years, while he inspected the Kufa and Najaf industrial Cement factories.
Battal said after the opening that the factory will contribute to reducing imports by ensuring competition in quality and price once again to produce tires of different sizes with a capacity of (one million) tires annually, in addition to producing agricultural tires with a capacity of (3) thousand tires annually with high quality and durability.
He stressed that the Ministry’s interest in rehabilitating the factory is a clear message of the partnership between the Ministry and the Governorate, explaining the endeavor to make Najaf Al-Ashraf an advanced industrial center.
