The Director General of the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit at the Ministry of Finance, Shehab Al-Shami, was briefed on Thursday on the progress of the implementation of a survey project, the construction of retaining walls and the expansion of narrow areas of the road linking the districts of Al-Shahil and Aflah Al-Yemen, with a community initiative.

Al-Shami and the directors of financial affairs – the representative of the Central Interventions Unit in the governorate, Abdul Wahab Sinan, the Executive Unit for Projects Sharaf Al-Madoumi, the movement and implementation of road projects in the unit, Essam Abdul Wasia, and initiatives in the governorate, Yahya Al-Zailai, were briefed on the progress of the project, which includes the construction of two thousand and 226 cubic meters of retaining walls on both sides of the road.

The survey and expansion works of the road were also reviewed with a completion rate of 20%, and the cost of all works in the project is estimated at 108 million an
d 627 thousand riyals, the unit contributes 21 million and 30 thousand riyals, and the rest of the amount is a community contribution.

During the visit, Shehab praised the community’s interaction in contributing to this initiative, the efforts made by the district’s leadership in facilitating the work of the unit, and keenness on the success of the initiatives, given their importance in achieving local development and improving services.

He stressed the importance of focusing on working on initiatives in the most deprived areas and need of service projects.
