Ramallah – Ma’an – Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa stressed, during the weekly cabinet session held today, Tuesday, in Ramallah, that the government, under the directives of Mr. President, is working with all its determination and ability to address the effects of the occupation and its aggression on the northern governorates of the West Bank.

The Prime Minister pointed out that the Ministerial Emergency Committee will continue its work in coordination and partnership with all relevant institutions to address the effects of the aggression, noting that our people have witnessed this solidarity and speed in working to provide services, open roads and prepare to repair damaged homes, to tell the occupation that we will remain on our land and all attempts to displace us will not succeed.

At the same time, the national team tasked with preparing the Gaza Strip reconstruction plan began its work to formulate the general vision for the reconstruction plan, in preparation for preparing the master plan and detailed
and comprehensive sectoral plans.

The Council of Ministers thanked the various government teams, local councils, the private sector, the residents, and everyone who contributed and continues to contribute to alleviating the suffering of our people in the northern West Bank governorates, stressing the need for solidarity and sincere collective work despite all the circumstances and challenges.

The Prime Minister briefed the Council members on the outcomes of the ministerial meeting in which he participated last Friday in the Spanish capital, Madrid, and what it included in terms of calling for Israel to withdraw from the Gaza Strip, supporting the two-state solution option, rejecting Israeli attacks on the northern West Bank, and unilateral Israeli measures such as colonial expansion and forced displacement, which the attendees considered to undermine international peace and security.

The Prime Minister stressed that our Palestinian diplomacy, led by Mr. President, is active around the clock and with all it
s capabilities, in order to stop the aggression against our people, and to mobilize international positions to vote in favor of a Palestinian draft resolution calling for the implementation of the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, which calls for ending the occupation and removing its effects, which will take place at the United Nations General Assembly meeting scheduled to be held on the 18th of this month.

The Cabinet also reviewed the weekly report on Israeli violations in the city of Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, the escalation of settler incursions and the demolition of homes and facilities, in addition to evacuation orders and administrative detention, as well as the expansion of colonial construction plans in the vicinity of Jerusalem, and the construction of thousands of colonial units, reiterating the continuation of efforts and legal and diplomatic follow-ups by the competent authorities to defend the rights of our people and their property in the capital, Jerusale
m.

The Council discussed the settlers’ attacks on our people, especially yesterday’s attacks on the students and teachers of the Bedouin Al-Kaabneh School, in addition to their attacks on the village of Umm Safa in the Ramallah Governorate, Masafer Yatta and many targeted areas. It instructed the relevant authorities to strengthen the steadfastness of our people in these areas and to address their needs. It also approved the completion of contracting procedures for employees in marginalized areas, behind the wall and Bedouin communities, in order to strengthen the steadfastness of our people in those areas.

The Council of Ministers also discussed the strategy for developing the tourism sector and the Ministry of Tourism’s vision for protecting and promoting tourist areas.

In addition, the Council discussed the preparations led by the Ministries of Social Development and Foreign Affairs, in coordination with our brothers in Jordan, to hold the International Conference on Children, which will discuss, with t
he participation of international institutions and organizations, the occupation’s violations of the rights of Palestinian children, and the obligations of the international community to provide protection for Palestinian children and hold Israel accountable for its crimes. The conference will be held next November under the hosting and sponsorship of the Jordanian monarchy and the sponsorship of President Mahmoud Abbas.

The Council of Ministers took a set of administrative and procedural decisions that will be published later.
