The Industry and Trade Office in Al Hodeida province, in cooperation with the relevant authorities, destroyed ten tons of spoiled and expired food items today.

The Director of the Industry Office in the Governorate, Saleh Mohammed, explained to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the assigned committee destroyed five tons of “Sun Top” juice and the same amount of “Legador” cake, which were expired and unfit for human consumption.

He stated that the process of destroying this quantity was carried out in the representatives presence of the relevant authorities, and in accordance with the legal procedures followed.

The Director of the Industry Office praised the cooperation of the province’s leadership and its keenness to ensure the success of the Industry Office’s oversight role, as well as the efforts of the competent authorities that played an active role in the procedures for destroying these materials in the designated landfill. He stressed that the office will not tolerate any violations that include fra
ud in the production and expiration dates of goods, stressing the importance of following the requirements related to storing food items to preserve them from any spoilage and to ensure the health of the consumer.
