Sultan of Oman, Iranian President Discuss Enhancing Relations

Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of the Sultanate of Oman and Iranian President Dr. Ebrahim Raisi held a session of talks in Tehran today.

The session dealt with various aspects of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, in addition to exchanging views on regional and international developments.

On the sidelines of the Sultan of Oman’s official visit to Tehran, the two sides signed two memoranda of understanding and two cooperation agreements to enhance development in promoting investments, exchanging investment opportunities, and boosting development and investments in economic zones and free zones, in addition to exchanging oil information.

Meanwhile, Omani Minister of Energy and Minerals Eng. Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi met with Iranian Petroleum Minister Javad Owji.

The meeting reviewed fields of cooperation between the two countries and means of promoting them, particularly in the areas of energy and minerals.

The two sides also touched on agreement under negotiations between the two countries and projects for the development of the Hengam-Bakha field and the export of gas to the Sultanate of Oman.
