Sana’a province organized a speech event on Wednesday commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, under the slogan, ‘Humiliation is far from us.’

The event, organized by Sana’a office, various works offices, the executive unit, the media, and the Yemeni News Agency ‘Saba,’ saw the presence of the Secretary-General of the Local Council, Abdulqadir al-Jilani.

Governor’s first undersecretary Hamid Asim highlighted the importance of commemorating Ashura to emphasize Yemen’s connection to Imam Hussein, the master of the martyrs, peace be upon him.

Asim urged the audience to follow the path, vision, and stance of Imam Hussein in combating injustice and supporting the truth.

Sana’a province advisor Abdullah al-Marwani recounted moments from the tragedy of Karbala, comparing the oppression faced by Imam Hussein to the suffering of the Yemeni people and the aggression against the Palestinian people, all amidst international and Arab silence.

Al-Marwani spoke of Hussein’s courage, oppression,
and resistance against Umayyad tyranny, which aimed to erase the identity of the Islamic nation.

He pointed to the conspiracies against the Arab and Islamic nations by hegemonic forces and global arrogance. He cited the Palestinian people as a prominent example, highlighting their suffering from genocide, displacement, and starvation.
