Shura Council condemns Zionist aggression on residential neighborhoods in Syria

The Shura Council has vehemently denounced the ongoing Zionist attacks on residential areas within the Syrian Arab Republic. The most recent incident occurred in Damascus’s Mezzeh neighborhood, leading to the deaths of Yemeni citizen Dr. Shawqi Al-Awdi, his wife, three daughters, and several Syrian civilians.

In a statement today, the Council stressed that this aggression represents a flagrant infringement on Syria’s sovereignty and independence and a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian law and the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilians.

It pointed out that this heinous crime comes within a series of crimes and violations committed by the Zionist entity in Palestine, Lebanon and the countries of the region, which confirms that it is just bloody gangs rogue from the law with no goal other than killing and taking the lives of innocent people.

The Council called on the international community and international and human rights bodies and organizations to play their role in
condemning this blatant aggression and to take serious action to stop Zionist arrogance and in the region.

The Council’s statement expressed full solidarity with the Arab and Syrian Republic and its right to respond legitimately to the repeated Zionist aggressions against Syrian territory.
