Secretary-General of Sudan’s Sovereign Council Mohammad Al-Ghali Sunday commended the State of Kuwait as having been in the forefront of those countries that had launched a humanitarian and relief aid airlift to war-torn Sudan.

The senior Sudanese official made the remark following his meeting with Kuwaiti Ambassador in Sudan Fahad Al-Thafeeri.

He added that the State of Kuwait had recently sent a one-million-US-dollar medical aid ship to Sudan, affirming that the Sudanese people appreciate this Kuwaiti support.

For his part, the Kuwaiti ambassador said his country would spare no effort to provide varied humanitarian aid of food and medical supplies to the Sudanese people, in addition to major charitable projects carried out by Kuwaiti charities in Sudan.

Speaking to KUNA, Al-Thafeeri said that his country had invited Sudanese aid officials to visit Kuwait in order to look into ways of cooperation and collaboration in the humanitarian field.
