The Arab Parliament Union revealed part of the proceedings of the thirty-second session of the Executive Committee meeting, which officially began today, Wednesday, in the capital, Baghdad.

The Secretary-General of the Union, Fayez Al-Shawabkeh, said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): “The capital, Baghdad, hosted the work of the 32nd Committee of the Arab Parliamentary Union, which is an integral part of the successful conference that was held last February in Baghdad.”

He explained, “There are procedural matters on the agenda of the Executive Committee meetings in the presence of representatives of 18 Arab countries, who are currently meeting in the center of the capital, Baghdad, to discuss matters related to the work of the Union and the upcoming activities that have been agreed upon.”

He added, “All participating members are meeting for the first time after the events that took place in the region and the Arab world, and they expressed their solidarity and sympathy with Morocco and Libya and called for providing all facilities, support and cooperation to get out of these crises that the two countries are suffering from.”

He continued to say, “There are indicative laws that will be approved in the Arab Parliamentary Union and will be distributed to the parliaments of all Arab countries in order to incorporate them into their local legislation related to climate change and environmental problems that Arab countries suffer from.”
