The Russian Defense Ministry announced the crash of a “Mi-28” helicopter in the Kaluga region in the west of the country and the death of its crew today, Thursday.

The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement: “A Mi-28 helicopter crashed during a planned flight in the Kaluga region,” explaining that the helicopter fell in an uninhabited area, without its crash causing any destruction on the ground.

The statement confirmed that the helicopter crew was killed in the accident.

The statement indicated that the initial cause of the helicopter crash was a technical malfunction, and that a committee affiliated with the Russian Aerospace Forces is working at the site.
