Governor Mohammed Jaber Awad, along with Deputy Governor Mohammed Muqbil al-Razami, conducted an inspection visit on Wednesday to review the restoration and rehabilitation efforts for the historic gates of the old city of Sa’ada. This includes Bab al-Yaman, Bab Najran, Bab al-Salam, and Bab Hamdan, which have suffered additional damage from recent rains and floods.

Governor Awad and Deputy al-Razami, along with the Director of the Historic Cities Preservation Authority in the governorate, Abdo Jatoum, were briefed on the progress of work on the project implemented by the local authority.

He stressed that the project is an emergency to avoid damage, especially with the approaching celebration of the Prophet’s birthday, which requires the city to appear in its beautiful splendor to visitors.

Sa’ada governor reviewed the damage caused by the rain torrents in a number of citizens’ homes as well as the drainage of the Imam al-Hadi neighborhood in the city and ways to treat it.
