Doha: Qatar Museums has been awarded the prestigious Gold Certification by CSR Accreditation, reflecting its commitment to social and environmental responsibility.

Qatar Museums is the first cultural institution to receive this accreditation in its first attempt, demonstrating its pioneering role in advancing responsible sustainability practices in business.

CEO of Qatar Museums, Mohammed Saad Al Rumaihi, said that Qatar Museums’ success also means making a positive difference in the world, whether its supporting local communities, reducing the environmental footprint, or championing ethical business practices.

Qatar Museums’ commitment to adopting social responsibility reflects the core of its values and mission to strive to create a more sustainable and responsible future for the entire world.

Qatar Museums has seen significant progress in integrating sustainability into all its operations, with a focus on environmentally friendly practices in the design and construction of buildings, and in its daily
activities. It has achieved notable achievements such as phasing out single-use water bottles and obtaining prestigious international certifications from the Green Building Council such as LEED and GSAS for its museums.

Qatar Museums had previously obtained carbon neutrality certification for the Museum of Islamic Art in 2022, an unprecedented achievement that reinforces its position as a leading cultural institution among its peers in the Middle East and North Africa region.
