The branch of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Hodeida province distributed food and shelter assistance to 1,253 families affected by the floods in the province’s districts.

The aid targeted 265 families with shelter materials and emergency shelter in Al-Zahra district with the support of the Norwegian Council Organization, and 210 families with food baskets , shelter materials in Al-Durayhimi , Al-Dahi districts with the support of Maharaty Foundation.

It also targeted 38 families with food baskets and 30 families with tents in Al-Hali district, in addition to distributing emergency response kits for 710 families in Bajil, Al-Hali and Al-Durayhimi districts, provided by the “Vision of Hope” organization.

The director of the council’s branch in the province, Jaber Al-Razhi, explained that the distribution of this aid comes within the framework of coordination efforts with charitable organizations, institutions and associations to strengthen the emergency re
sponse and help families affected by the torrential rains.

He praised the role of humanitarian organizations, associations and institutions, which are keeping pace with the need to provide relief to the affected families in the districts of Al-Hodeida province.

Al-Razhi pointed out that the torrential rains caused significant damage to the houses of thousands of poor families, which calls for intensifying interventions to rebuild and rehabilitate these houses.
