BRUSSELS, Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh Wednesday called for associating the European aid and partnership with Israel with respecting the two-state solution, putting an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land, and respecting human rights.

Prime Minister Shtayyeh made his call during a meeting with David McAllister, the Chair of the European Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee, in Brussels.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister called on Europe to fill the current political vacuum through a peace initiative in partnership with the Quartet to end the occupation towards the embodiment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine.

He stressed that Israel’s continued rejection of the two-state solution.

The meeting was held in the presence of Riyad Al-Malki, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine, and Abdel Rahim Al-Farra, the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the European Union, Belgium, and Luxembourg.
