Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Mohammad Mustafa, met today in Ramallah with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and briefed her on the latest developments in Palestine.
The discussion focused on the escalating situation in the Palestinian territories, particularly the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza and the recent assaults by Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.
Prime Minister Mustafa highlighted the severe impact of the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza, noting the high casualties, including women and children, and the destruction of infrastructure.
He also condemned the Israeli military incursions in northern West Bank provinces, which have resulted in significant civilian harm and disruptions to essential services, including healthcare.
Mustafa pointed out that Israel’s recent blockage of a ministerial delegation’s entry into Jenin to assess the situation underscores the critical need for international intervention.
Mustafa as
sured that efforts will be made to rebuild the infrastructure destroyed during the recent Israeli aggression on the cities of Jenin and Tulkarm.
Regarding the situation in Gaza, Mustafa expressed support for implementing United Nations Security Council Resolution 2735 as a starting point for a ceasefire. He emphasized the need for humanitarian aid to address urgent needs and pave the way for Palestinian statehood and the end of the occupation.
The Prime Minister also briefed Baerbock on the government’s plans for a detailed national strategy for Gaza’s recovery and reconstruction, in collaboration with international partners such as the World Bank, the United Nations, and the European Union.
Additionally, he outlined progress on institutional reform programs and emphasized the importance of continued German support, both bilaterally and through the EU.
Mustafa underscored the need for enhanced bilateral cooperation and the convening of a joint ministerial committee to address political, economic, and dev
elopmental issues of mutual interest, commending Germany’s ongoing support for Palestine.
