Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani stressed that achieving a balance between the three dimensions of sustainable development is a priority for us through sustainable economic growth, equal opportunities and environmental protection.
The Prime Minister said at the Future Summit on Confronting Future Challenges, which is being held on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York: Iraq is aware of the magnitude of the challenges imposed by climate change.
He stressed that we are committed to establishing the concepts of climate justice, especially in combating drought and desertification and ensuring water and food security.
He continued: We believe that confronting these challenges requires effective international cooperation within the framework of the United Nations Framework Convention and the Paris Agreement.
