Prime Minister discusses enhanced relief efforts for Gaza

RAMALLAH: Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa held a meeting today with various international and local humanitarian organizations to address the urgent need to intensify efforts aimed at alleviating the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza.

During the discussion, Mustafa emphasized the necessity of increasing support and coordination among all parties involved to improve the conditions on the ground, particularly in light of the intensified aggression faced by northern Gaza.

He urged for greater pressure to be applied to open all crossings to facilitate the flow of humanitarian aid and to establish mechanisms to protect field teams, relief workers, and aid convoys within the strip.

The meeting, which took place at the Ministry of Social Development in Ramallah, included the presence of Minister of Social Development Samah Hamad and Minister of State for Relief Affairs Basel Nasser.

Mustafa highlighted the responsibility of all stakeholders to ensure that assistance is delivered and distributed effectively acros
s all areas of Gaza.

He also pointed out the importance of enhancing coordination among various Palestinian national institutions and ministries involved in humanitarian efforts, especially those working with international organizations like the United Nations.

To further bolster relief efforts, Mustafa announced the formation of a national team comprising various Palestinian ministries-including those of Development, Health, Relief Affairs, Education, and Transportation-as well as the Palestinian Red Crescent and the Refugee Affairs Department of the PLO.

He stated, ‘The ongoing genocide against our people in Gaza persists due to the lack of a deterrent for Israel to halt this war, which aims at the annihilation of our people and the destruction of the essential foundations of life in the sector, threatening the Palestinian cause and the project of establishing an independent state.’

The meeting included representatives from various humanitarian organizations, including the UN’s humanitarian coordinator,
UNICEF, Action Against Hunger, UNRWA, WFP, and several other agencies working to provide aid in the region.
