Warsaw, President of the Warsaw-based Centre for International Relations Dr. Malgorzata Bonikowska said that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s visit to the Republic of Poland would enhance the two countries’ mutual interests.

In remarks to Qatar News Agency , Dr. Bonikowska said that HH the Amir’s visit to Poland will help expand areas of cooperation between Qatar and Poland, noting that Qatar has already proven to be a reliable gas supply partner, especially after the Russia-Ukraine war. She noted that the Middle East has rose to prominence, highlighting that Poland’s interest now goes beyond Europe to include other places.

On Qatars role in mediation, in cooperation with partners, to stop the war in Gaza and try to reach a ceasefire to protect civilians and free prisoners and hostages, she said that the Middle East was a very important region for all countries of the world, and that peace was important to everyone, highlighting the view that this was not a regional conflict, but one that affec
ts all countries around the world.

She stressed that Poland appreciates Qatar’s role in being a place for negotiations between the parties to the conflict in the Middle East, noting that her country is not an important player in the region, and therefore looks forward to having a greater understanding of the difficulties facing the region in order to assist in any way in the efforts that can be made to achieve peace in the region.

She added that Qatar is an important country in international diplomacy, with presence on the international arena, and has been able to make a name in the field of humanitarian aid and relief efforts, expressing her appreciation for the government’s efforts and financial assistance provided by Qatar, stressing that Qatar is characterized by a very balanced foreign policy, which is necessary in the region so that it does not take sides, but rather tries to communicate with all partners.

Concluding her remarks to QNA, she said that the visit of HH the Amir visit to Poland is import
ant for bilateral relations, and that the visit of Polish President Andrzej Duda last May to Qatar aimed to push forward in establishing a deeper partnership between the two countries, noting that many businessmen view Qatar as an important hub for the Middle East, African countries and Southeast Asia.
