ANKARA: Ambassador of Palestine to Turkey, Faed Mustafa, said President Mahmoud Abbas will begin a two-day official visit to the Republic of Turkey on Wednesday evening.

During the visit, the president is scheduled to meet with the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and the Turkish leadership, as part of the regular political consultations between the two presidents and the two friendly countries in light of their historical ties and relations.

The ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem, and in the besieged Gaza Strip will also be tackled.

President Abbas is set to deliver a historic political speech at the extraordinary meeting of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, the Parliament, at the invitation of the speaker of the Grand National Assembly, Numan Kurtulmus.

The president is accompanied by Hussein al-Sheikh, the Secretary General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Majed
Faraj, head of intelligence, Mahmoud al-Habbash, President Mahmoud Abbas’ Advisor for Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations and Majdi Al-Khalidi, Advisor to President Mahmoud Abbas for Diplomatic Affairs.
