President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, Sunday received a phone call from the French President Emmanuel Macron.

The President briefed Macron on the latest dangerous developments in the occupied Palestinian territory, especially in the Gaza Strip, stressing the need for France to put pressure on the Israeli occupation authorities to stop their continued aggression against the Palestinian people, and to accelerate the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, as well as to stop the attacks of the occupation forces and terrorist settlers on the Palestinian people, in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

President Abbas reiterated Palestine’s categorical rejection of the displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip or the West Bank, including Jerusalem, stressing the need for urgent intervention to release the Palestinian clearance funds held by Israel.

The President stressed that there is no security or military solution for the Gaza Strip and the rest of the occupied Palestinian territor
ies, and that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the Palestinian state, noting that it is not possible to accept or deal with the occupation authorities’ plans to separate Gaza.

He stressed that security and peace are achieved by ending the Israeli occupation of the land of the State of Palestine, with East Jerusalem as its capital, calling on France and the European Union countries that believe in the two-state solution to recognize the State of Palestine, while emphasizing that the State of Palestine obtains its full membership in the United Nations by a decision of the Security Council, and hold an international peace conference with international guarantees and a timetable for implementing the two-state solution based on international legitimacy.

The President thanked French President Macron for his call for a ceasefire and the provision of humanitarian aid, as well as for organizing the International Humanitarian Conference in Paris.

President Abbas expressed his appreciation for the position of Fr
ance and the European Union committed to the two-state solution based on international legitimacy, and highly appreciated the humanitarian and development assistance provided by France and the European Union to build Palestinian national institutions and the Palestinian people.
