RAMALLAH, Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh mourned Palestinian doctor Abdullah Abu al-Teen, 43, who was shot dead by Israeli forces while he was trying to rescue casualties shot by Israeli gunfire in Jenin this morning.

The PM considered the killing of al-Teen and targeting of medical staff as a dangerous development that requires urgent intervention by international human rights and humanitarian organizations.

Shtayyeh called on those organizations to condemn the targeting of Abu El-Teen, and the two ambulance officers, who they were trying to rescue Palestinian youth Mateen Dabaya, who was killed by Israeli gunfire after the soldiers prevented medical staff to approach him and rescue him.

The PM considered that the impunity the Israeli occupation has pushes it to commit more crimes, calling on the international community to stop the policy of double standards, and work to curb the crimes committed against Palestinian people.

Shtayyeh offered his deepest condolences to the slain doctor’s parents, wife and three children, his fellow doctors, and all medical staff.
