RAMALLAH: The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Mohammad Mustafa, met today with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy and French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Stéphane Séjourné in Ramallah, where they discussed efforts made to stop the Israeli genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

They also discussed efforts exerted to strengthen relief efforts in the Gaza Strip and stop the escalation of the occupation army’s and colonists’ aggression in the West Bank.

Mustafa also stressed the need for France and Britain to recognize the sovereign independent Palestinian state, and to follow up and support the implementation of the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

Mustafa commended the efforts made by Britain and France and their continued calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and to avoid escalation in the region as a whole.

The Prime Minister thanked the UK, France and EU countries and donors for the financial support recently pro
vided to Palestine, as well as for the relief assistance provided to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip since the start of the Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023.

Mustafa pointed out that the government has laid out plans to work in the Gaza Strip the day after the war ends and for the unification of government institutions in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip under a single authority.

He stressed that the government has been responsible for providing all the basic services in the Gaza Strip since the very first day of the establishment of the national authority.

The Prime Minister reiterated his call for the international community to support efforts to stop the aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the government’s efforts to end the occupation and rebuild and unite the Palestinian territories within an independent state.

He further called for supporting efforts to achieve further recognition of the State of Palestine and its full membership in the United Nations.

For
their part, the French and British ministers emphasized the need to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and allow aid entry, stressing that de-escalation in the region is the only option.

They underscored their rejection of the escalation taking place in the West Bank, including the terrorist attacks of colonists against Palestinian citizens and their properties, affirming the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state.
