RAMALLAH: Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Mohammad Mustafa, today met with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy, and stressed the need to advance efforts to stop the war of genocide against Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, enhance emergency relief, and increase the introduction of humanitarian aid, in addition to stopping the attacks of the occupation and settlers, and settlement expansion in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

Mustafa stressed that the recent Security Council Resolution (2735), which is approved by everyone, constitutes a good starting point for stopping the war on the Gaza Strip, and contributes to the return of residents to their homes, the introduction of aid and needs throughout the Strip, ending the occupation of the Gaza Strip, and beginning the reconstruction process, adding that it emphasizes the vision of the two-state solution.

‘We have not left the Gaza Strip, and we will provide everything possible to help our people in the Strip. The Pales
tinian Authority was established in the Gaza Strip, and all basic services provided, including education, health, water, electricity, and others, are provided by the government, and its employees receive salaries from it, and the evidence of this is how Israel discounts approximately 275 million shekels per month from clearing funds as government allocations to the Gaza Strip,” he said.

Mustafa discussed with Lamy the importance of strengthening British support for Palestine, which contributes to building the capabilities of institutions, recovery and economic revival from the repercussions of the occupation war on Palestinian people, and relief and reconstruction efforts.

The PM briefed the British Minister on the government’s efforts in institutional reform and development, focusing on the priorities of energy security and reliance on renewable energy, advancing the health sector and localizing services, enhancing government services provided to citizens, enhancing social protection, strengthening the pri
nciples of governance, transparency, accountability, combating corruption, and developing the justice sector, integrating digital transformation into productive and service sectors, and promoting economic growth and recovery.

British Foreign Secretary Lammy affirmed his commitment to the two-state solution, and his country’s efforts to reach an immediate ceasefire agreement, the arrival of aid to all residents of the Gaza Strip, an end to illegal Israeli settlement expansion, and the increasing settler violence in the West Bank, and Britain’s support for the government and its reformatory efforts.
