Petra: The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA), Fares Al-Brayzat, met on Wednesday with representatives of Saudi Arabia’s Jameel Abdul Latif Group.

The meeting covered holding the fourth edition of Saudi Arabia’s all-female Rally Jameel in 2025 in the city of Petra.

Al-Brayzat said that PDTRA welcomes the rally in Petra, as part of its plans to develop tourism products in the region and develop adventure tourism.

Al-Brayzat added that PDTRA is working on developing several tourism products and reviving different Nabataean experiences, such as: convoy tourism, as it is linked to previous historical events that Petra used as a historical commercial capital that connects it to many cities, especially the Nabataean city of AlUla.

Rally Jameel is known as a desert navigation rally that does not require speed, while each team consists of two women and uses the best navigation techniques and a road book to compete to cross the deserts of Saudi Arab
ia through versatile four-wheel-drive vehicles, to reach hidden coordinates that form the rally routes.

The contestants aim to collect as many points as possible to win the rally, and the length of the route is 1600 km from the city of Hail in Saudi Arabia to King Abdullah City through AlUla, Amlaj and Yanbu, and if all procedures are finalized, it will start in its next edition from the city of Petra in Jordan for two days, then proceed towards Wadi Rum and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to reach the city of Hail and AlUla.
