Gaza-Ma’an- A special source in the leadership of the Palestinian resistance revealed the latest information regarding the meeting in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, which is related to discussing a ceasefire in Gaza and concluding a prisoner exchange deal.

The private source confirmed on Saturday that the meeting in Cairo with the delegation of the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, “did not lead to clear progress.”

A source in the leadership of the Palestinian resistance told Al-Mayadeen that “Israel” is committed to remaining in the “Philadelphi” axis in the first stage of a possible agreement, while Hamas is adhering to the proposal of July 2 (the proposal of US President Joe Biden), and rejects the presence of occupation forces in this axis.

Earlier, a special source in the leadership of the Palestinian resistance confirmed that Hamas had sent a delegation to Cairo to inform the mediators of its adherence to the July 2 paper, ‘as a reference for implementation, not for negotiation.’

Hamas Political Bur
eau member, Izzat al-Rishq, confirmed that the movement’s delegation will arrive in Cairo on Saturday evening, headed by the movement’s Deputy Political Bureau Chairman, Khalil al-Hayya, in order to hear the results of the round of negotiations.

He added that Hamas “affirms its readiness to implement what was agreed upon (on July 2, 2024), and demands pressure on the occupation, obligating it to implement that, and stopping the obstruction of reaching an agreement.”
