Palestinian official : America aborted Russia attempt to stop aggression

The UN Security Council Resolution, to increase humanitarian aid to Gaza Strip, lacked the essential part; i.e. an end to the Zionist aggression on Gaza, a member in the Palestinian Liberation Organization’s executive committee said.

The resolution came five days after the vote had been delayed following US stance at proposed amendments to the resolution, Wasil Abu-Saif added in remarks to the Sputnik, as Washington does its best to “abort any efforts aimed at immediate stop to this criminal war.”

While Israeli army commits genocide against Palestinians, the US refused all the calls for negotiations on its veto against a cessation to this war, the Palestinian official said.

The resolution’s original wording talked about a halt of hostilities and an access to medical and food supplies to Gaza, but the US refused this text and insisted on keeping the Palestinian children and women under the brutal bombardment, he added.

Moscow presented an amendment so that the resolution would include a ceasefire as an ess
ential part, but Washington vetoed the amendment and aborted the Russian attempt to stop the war, he argued.
