Palestinian freedom fighter Imad Fahal, who is incarcerated in Israel, has been on hunger strike for the fifth day in a row demanding an end to his isolation and to be transferred to the wards in the Naqab detention center, today said the Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission.

It said in a statement that Fahal, from the village of Kobar, near Ramallah, is kept in isolation at Ayalon prison, which has a reputation as one of the worst penitentiaries in Israel where conditions are very harsh and the ill-treatment from the prison guards, who constantly search the prison cells.

Fahal was arrested in 2012 for resisting the occupation and was sentenced to 26 years in prison.
