OIC condemns storming of Al-Aqsa mosque by extremist Israeli Minister

JEDDAH: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by the extremist minister of the Israeli occupation government, Itamar Ben Gavir, and hundreds of extremist colonists.

OIC condemned the desecration of the mosque’s courtyards and the ban imposed on the entry of worshipers, considering this a provocation to the feelings of Muslims throughout the world, and a flagrant violation of international law and relevant UN resolutions.

The OIC also warned against the danger of the continued Israeli occupation policies aimed at altering the Arab and Islamic identity of the occupied city of Jerusalem, stressing that Israel, the occupying power, has no sovereignty over the occupied city and its holy places and that the blessed Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif in its entirety is a place of worship for Muslims exclusively.

Furthermore, the OIC called on the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to shoulder its responsibilities to put an end to thes
e serious and repeated violations of the sanctity of holy places and freedom of worship.

The OIC also underlined the need for complete and immediate cessation of the Israeli aggression and international protection for the Palestinian people.
