Norway’s FM: Israel does not support a two state solution

OSLO: Norway’s Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide said today that the Israeli government’s decision to suspend the work of his country’s representative office in Palestine means that Tel Aviv does not support a two-state solution, calling on the world to confirm that there is no alternative to the two-state solution.

In press statements, Edie confirmed Norway was forced to shut down indefinitely its representative office in Palestine.

He added that the Israeli government does not support the idea of a two-state solution and wants to undermine efforts to reach this solution.

He affirmed that Norway will continue its efforts to achieve the two-state solution, stating: ‘There is no effective alternative to it.’

He described the Israeli move as ‘extreme and unreasonable,’ stressing that Israel’s measures against Norway came in response to its support to the Palestinian people, particularly at international courts.

He stressed that the world must be clear and affirm that there is no effective alternative to th
e two-state solution.
