The issuance of Israeli demolition orders against Palestinian-owned buildings and structures in the occupied territories was highlighted on the front page of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies published today.
Al-Quds, al-Ayyam and al-Hayat al-Jadida dailies said in their main front-page story headlines that the Israeli occupation authorities issued demolition orders against several buildings and structures in Jerusalem, Hebron, Ramallah and Tubas districts, as well as a road in the Jordan Valley.
At the same time, al-Ayyam said Israeli settlers attacked Palestinians, and razed land and built shacks in the northern Jordan Valley and Samou, in the Hebron area, according to al-Hayat al-Jadida, while several were injured during an Israeli army raid in Jenin, as reported in al-Quds.
In other news, al-Quds also said that an anti-apartheid conference recommended forming a coalition to fight Israeli apartheid.
It also said that a United Nations official is considering adding Israel to the blacklist of nations that target children.
The paper also said that the Palestinians have condemned Israel’s refusal to grant entry visas to UN staff.
Al-Ayyam said that an Israeli court gave the green light to evacuate a Palestinian family from its house in the Old City of Jerusalem for the benefit of settlers.
It said Israel issued tenders for the construction of 1380 housing units in four illegal settlements in occupied East Jerusalem.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida said President Mahmoud Abbas attended an event in Amman at the invitation of King Abdullah of Jordan.
It said the cancer-stricken Palestinian prisoner, Nasser Abu Hmeid, was rushed to the hospital following a serious deterioration in his health.
